Some Common Sense for Liberals

Keep It To Yourself

The problem has never been allowing people to worship in any way they wish. It is that some of the worshipful folks insist on forcing their practices on the rest of us:

1. No legal and safe abortion.
2. Limits on availability and type of contraception.
3. Limits on what science may be taught.
4. Teaching and application of religious doctrine in schools where all pupils are not of the same religion.
5. Control of media and entertainment.
6. Laws that interfere with the private lives of homosexuals.
7. Allowing professionals (pharmacists, doctors, nurses, ambulance drivers) to decide which patients they will and won't serve.
8. Control of which parents may adopt children.
9. Control of what literature and history may be taught in schools.
10. Forcing prayer and other evidence of religion on the general public.
11. Using religion to determine what medical and scientific research may be done.
12. Control of what books and other publications may be sold, read, held in libraries.

Religion has been, and is being, used by the political Right to further agendas of social control. The purpose of having a secular society is not to prevent YOU from practicing religion but to protect US from the intrusion of your religion. Only by having a secular society can the rest of us be safe from your religious zealotry. When you belive that God has given you a mandate to interfere in my life, I will defend my right to live my life as I choose. Stay in your own house: don't come invading my house.

I would like to address your comments about forcing practices on you. I will address each argument you had in the same numerical order.

1.No Legal and Safe Abortion. Abortion is the murder of an individual and is illegal. I hear no outcry from you when a drunk driver hits a pregnant woman and she is ok but the baby dies, and the drunk is charged with murder. (As he should be) But why is that murder and abortion not?

2.Simple moral decency says that people should abstain from sex outside of marriage. That has nothing to do with religion.

3.There is nothing wrong with science if it can be proven, and if not then other beliefs should be brought into the teaching arena. There is absolutely no proof of evolution it is only a theory, just as is creationism, and creationism has been around a lot longer.

4.This country was founded on Christianity and our founding fathers taught it in schools, and used the Bible as a reader. If nothing else it allows good moral principals to be taught, something lacking in schools today. Since 1962 when prayer and the Bible was taken out of schools, look at the decline in behavior both in the schools and in American society in general that has occurred.

5.As for media control, once again it's no more than desiring good moral behavior to be broadcast. Since the media has been allowed to pretty much show what they want or say what they want, the main themes on television have been the escalation of sex and violence, if you will notice as goes the media so goes the public.

6.Homosexuality is a choice made by people, and since that is a choice and it is not a socially accepted behavior, once again it goes to being what is morally permissible in public.

7.Every person should have the right to associate or deal professionally with whom they choose, including Pharmacists, doctors, nurses, ambulance drivers ect.

8.There must be some control on who may adopt. Is it right to allow someone who is drug addict, spousal abuser, child molester or some other morally corrupt individual to adopt and influence a Childs life?

9.Once again it is a questions of morals and common decency. Some things should not be allowed to be taught in schools. Such as hate, or any other immoral subject that is detrimental to children or society. Speaking of control, why are all beliefs taught in schools, except Christian beliefs. You may find all types of religious teachings and books in schools except Christian teachings and books.

10.We don't force prayer on anyone, we just want to be able to pray where and when we wish. But at the same time, Christian prayer is outlawed in our schools, but it's ok for the Muslims to kneel and pray to Mecca there.

11.Once again it has to do with morals. It is wrong to take a life to do scientific studies.

12.Once again it goes to having moral decency. Some things should not be done or shown in public. Pornographic material, hate books, and books that support anti-American themes should not be allowed to be in the public venues.

If you and those like you who are supporting liberal agendas of the far left would just sit back and look and comprehend the damage you have done to society and this country with your pushing to destroy all that is socially acceptable, and moral. I would think that being an intelligent person you would want things to change so that we don't have to worry about walking down the street. (Getting mugged, raped, tormented, or put in view of disgusting acts) We have in this country, children having children, children bringing guns to schools and killing other children. We now have to have security and metal detectors in our schools, do you really think all you have fought for has helped our children and this country. I think not. Also since Christians are the largest majority in this so called democracy, which is actually a republic. Why don't you sit down, shut up and leave us alone.
